It’s always fun to type an update that starts like this: “I’m sitting on the balcony of our room overlooking the savanna at Kidani Village.”
It would also be fun to type: “After hitting the lottery for $80 million so everyone come on down, the trip’s on me.”
But I’ll settle for the first part.
We’re here at Walt Disney World as part of the Epic Mousejunkie Journey – a trip put together by Blue Sky Journeys that combines a group of really great people, a scavenger hunt, and a getaway at our favorite vacation destination/obsession.
It’s been a blast. Everyone is really great, and last night’s dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge was a riot. I fell in love with the ribs and want to marry them. Or the potatoes. The dessert was really great, too.
Everyone is being a bit secretive about their progress on the scavenger hunt, but everyone also seemed to get a good laugh out of the question Katie came up with: “Take a picture of an animal pooping at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.” (And I hear there has been some success.)
The only unfortunate thing so far – Amy got really sick on the boat ride home last night. (We went from WL to the MK and then took a bus to Kidani.) We thought she’d be OK after a few minutes, but let’s just say it’s been a long night and I feel terrible for her.
Luckily we have some friends who are making an emergency Target run for some appropriate meds. Lifesavers!
Let’s all will Amy back to health and her former Disney form.
Today marks another full day of Mousejunkies finalizing their scavenger hunt forms – I can show you what they were when it’s all over – ending with dinner tonight at the Biergarten. I foresee plenty of swaying back and forth and clinking of steins.
Whispering Canyon. I loved that night. Katie is so adorable. Now I see where see gets it from. (:
