Forego the funnel cake? I know, that’s crazy talk. Absolutely insane.

NPH tells us this is a good thing. I, for one, believe him.

But theme park enthusiasts can do just that to help Project Angel Food – a non-profit organization that delivers free meals to men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses.

This is how it works:

  • Go to Themeparkchange.com.
  • Click on ‘donate now.’
  • Choose from one of eight common theme park items. Each item represents a different level of giving – from a $1 soft drink (I don’t know what theme park they’ve been to recently, but I haven’t seen a $1 soda since, well, ever) to a $25 skycoaster ride, to a full day’s pass at $50.
  • You’ll be taken to a Web site where you can donate that corresponding amount directly to the charity.

Every person who donates $10 or more is automatically entered into a raffle where they will have a chance to win a theme park prize for themselves. (Think Sea World, Six Flags Over Texas, Walt Disney World, etc.)

By giving up a piece of your theme park season and pitching in a little pocket change, you’ll be helping to change the lives of those who are in need.
