On the last day of my first Walt Disney World trip as an adult, Amy and I decided to hit the Magic Kingdom. It was a little foggy, which provided an additional sense of magic to everything.
We made our way to the Partners Statue and took everything in. Just then, the Dapper Dans appeared out of nowhere and started serenading a couple. The young man got down on one knee and popped the question to his girlfriend. I’ll admit it: I’m a sucker for these things, and right then and there my mind was blown.
Since that time I’ve seen a few people get engaged at Walt Disney World – a couple right in that same spot. But I came across a photo that topped anything I’ve seen so far in terms of fun. I have no idea how old this image is, but I just saw it for the first time this morning:
I immediately wondered: Is that Lindsay in the front seat? That’d be my guess. The guys put the signs away quickly, they all head over to the gift shop to look at the in-ride photo, and Lindsay sees the proposal.
Also – what if Lindsay didn’t want to sit in the front seat? What if the signs were out of order? What if it said “Marry Me Will You Lindsay” – it still makes sense, but sounds a little exasperated. Or what if it said, “Lindsay You Will Marry Me.” That’s a little pushy.
I’m going to assume it all worked out in the end, and they got married and had a child named Mickey.
I did a Google search to see if I could find out any more about the photo, and you know what I learned? This goes on all the time at Disney.
Here are a few of my favorites:
I love the way this one was edited:
A little Chefs de France romance:
PUSH got involved in this one:
I miss Four For a Dollar – a LOT.
The creativity of some of these people is amazing. This one’s at the Coral Reef… Sort of.
Happily ever after…
Main Street USA (Not exactly the Dapper Dans, but the sentiment is there):
There’s the Dapper Dans:
Some DCL love:
“No time for love Dr. Jones!” (Well, maybe this once.)
A definitely fairy tale proposal:
I could post these all day.
I have friends who had a great Mickey and Minnie cake topper, and still another friend who got married at Walt Disney World.
Did you get engaged at WDW? Did you get married there? Did you involved Disney in your wedding?

Thanks for making me cry in the middle of a work day.
I’m a sucker for WDW proposals too. Thanks for posting this.

Great Article!!
I’m glad you didn’t post all day!! Cause I would have cried all day!! I love this!!
My husband, Al, proposed to my in April of 2002. We had planned our 1st Disney trip together and had dinner reservations @ Cinderella’s Royal Table on our one year anniversary together…perfect, right? He had to propose – it was my dream!!!! (didn’t he psychically know that!?!?!?!) Well, he didn’t and I was ready to go back to the hotel…but he wanted to stay for the fireworks. I am very stubborn, so I left. As I was walking up the ramp to the monorail, I hear, “Hey!” And there he is…with a Mickey Mouse engagement ring!!! He wanted to propose in front of the castle during the fireworks and I screwed it up!! Oh well, we Disneymooned there one year later and celebrated our five year anniversary @ WDW. Now we look forward to renewing our vows there in 2013 for our 10 year,,,,
I saw the first pic on PostSecret this morning. Its pretty cute though I think I’m the only girl on the planet that thinks proposals like this are sort of cheesy.
I have to every year I run the Disney Half Marathon My Brother and “Sister: Live in South Florida so they always come up to cheer me on. Last year was cold ( 20 degrees) Marc Jayne her niece our mom and me all go to Magic Kingdom Jayne is immediately having a bad day, it’s cold her pants are falling because she forgot to put a belt on and they are hard to find in MK so my brother bought her the most obnoxious pink sweat pants. She just wanted to go back to the room and Marc just kept saying it is going to be a great day. We all knew he was going to propose by the wishing well– well to our surprise the path was closed for construction! Marc and I looked at each other in disbelief he needed a plan and fast, so we went to her favorite ride peter pan and as we were in the boat in front of them he asked her as we started to sail over London all we heard was a gasp and tears of course she said yes!
Thanks for the happy videos!
My son met his wife when they both worked for Disney. He proposed on Tom Sawyer’s Island, and they got married on a Disney cruise. They now bring their son there
We got engaged there on November 15, 2010! The happiest day of our lives in the happiest place on earth! We’re hoping to go back for our honeymoon in October 2011, but anxiously waiting to see if we’ll get a pinned offer in our e-mail! Any honeymoon tips?
We had Mickey and Minnie cake topper as well as Mickey and Minnie walking balloons at our reception. I walked down the isle to “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” and we have a Wedding plate that we received for our anniversary. This year we will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary on board the Disney Dream. It is a total surprise for our girls, they have no idea!! This is going to be very special and we are so very happy to keep the Disney spirit alive in our marriage!
I too thought this was awsome, and here is some more info… http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/fuc0t/now_thats_a_way_to_propose/
