Amy, Katie and I are heading to Mousejunkie J and Deb’s house tonight for a Disney Dinner Party.
That’s where everyone in attendance attempts to recreate, cook and bring their favorite Disney dish. (Or, just one they can cook, in my case. Although what I plan on bringing happens to be one of my favorites.)
The easy way out would be to show up with a six pack of Guinness and say, “Raglan Road.” But I know the people who are going put a lot of effort into their dishes, so I had to rethink my plan.
I’ll be posting pictures from the Disney Dinner Party on my Facebook page tonight, so if you’re not friends with me – make the request! And tomorrow I’ll recount the whole event, with photos and hopefully some video.

Amy eating French onion soup at Le Chefs de France. She was really, really happy that I took this photo.
What is your favorite Disney dish? Have you ever tried to recreate it?
Of course, I’ll never pass up an opportunity to post one of my early attempts at Mousejunkie video. (Ignore the dates, that was for the first book.)

Discussion
I have been slaving at the stove to bring a creation to the table just like Disney!!! Although I put my own spin to it I have to say that the caramel apple cookies will be delicious.
My favourite food at WDW . . . That could take some serious thinking. I used to love the catfish/polenta combo at the Coral Reef but they don’t make it anymore – on my last visit I soothed my hurt feelings over this with Kahlua/Jack Daniels mousse dessert. I am a steak fan so Le Cellier has a place in my heart (also I am Canadian so it is required that I like Le Cellier). I love me some creme brulee, the best one was at Kona. The chef at the California Grill made me a special gluten free version of Banana’s Foster that I would have married him for. The heritage Tomato Soup at the California Grill is amazing.
Apparently, I don’t have to do much serious thinking, yum, I love food at WDW. I don’t make any of it at home, not because I can’t cook, I just like looking forward to going to WDW and eating!
We had a Disney Cruise party and I made Konk Koolers! Yummy and addicting!
I’ve made the bread-and-butter pudding from Raglan Road a couple of times. It’s the first time I’ve ever cooked a restaurant recipe and said, “This is *just* like being there!” I’ve also made the dish currently known as Kevin’s Heavenly Ham (but which I still think of as Kevin’s Kudos). That was also very tasty, but somewhat less so by the fact that I can’t get real loin of bacon here.
I tried making dole whips a couple weeks back. The texture wasn’t right at all but once you get past that it tastes quite the same!
