Here's me, excited that we got into Le Cellier on my birthday. (Check out that T-shirt Amy made me.)

Le Cellier, the steakhouse in Epcot’s Canada pavilion, is now a signature dining experience. (As Shelby pointed out – for dinner only.)

What does this mean for you?

If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan it’s going to cost two table-service credits now. If you’re not, it’s just gotten more expensive.

I don’t necessarily dislike this move. I’m hoping it’ll make it a little easier to get an ADR. I struck out on Le Cellier on two of my most recent trips. It’d just be nice if it was possible to get in there.

As a fellow Disney addict wrote on Facebook today: “It’s good. But it’s not that good.” I think that’s true. If you’re judging it on the Epcot World Showcase scale, it’s very, very good. If you’re judging it against other high-end restaurants outside of Disney, it’s just good.

Don’t get me wrong – I loves me some cheddar cheese soup and a filet. And now with it costing a bit more on the Dining Plan, maybe it’ll ease the demand a bit. I guess we’ll see.

For those who haven’t experienced Le Cellier, here’s how Disney describes it:

Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion offers refuge to red meat lovers beneath the bustle of Epcot theme park in a setting inspired by the wine cellars of the grandest Canadian château-style hotels: Le Château Frontenac and Fairmont Château Laurier. At Le Cellier Steakhouse, feast on regional cuisine based on recipes from the provinces of Canada. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant features succulent prime rib and filet mignon from aged corn-fed beef, and pan-seared seafood, along with its signature dish, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, which is wicked good. Go Bruins. Beat the Habs.

OK, I added that last part.

The menu has also expanded. Here’s what you can expect if you stop in these days:

Lunch menu.

The Prix Fixe lunch menu.

The kids menu.

The dinner menu.

The Prix Fixe dinner menu.

My only complaint? The poutine I had on my last dinner there was awful. It was more like cheese fries with gravy. Not cheese curds. Nasty.

What do you think of Le Cellier, it’s menu and the change to a Signature Dining experience?
