In times past, I may have considered the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream a meal in and of itself.
My arteries and back are thankful that I’ve now sworn off the monstrous concoction. But there was a time that I attacked it savagely. A small contingent of Disney special forces – Mousejunkies J, Deb and Walt and I – attempted to eat the Kitchen Sink one night. We were, in the end, defeated. Walt was playing hurt, and Deb is teensy and therefore can’t put away the massive portion necessary to defeat the beast.
I can’t give it another shot. I’ve made the decision to refrain from such insane overindulgence. Unless…
Wait, no. I must remain strong. I will put healthy living first. Or… Second. Maybe just one more attempt…
The Disney Parks Blog posted a video about how to construct the Kitchen Sink. Look what goes into this awesome piece of desserty art:
I can’t resist. I’m going back in late May. The gauntlet has been thrown down. I challenge you, Kitchen Sink. I will defeat you, or die trying.
Wait, that might be a little dramatic. I will defeat you or… Not.
Have you defeated the Kitchen Sink? Tell me your battle tale.

Few challenges are so fun trying! And I’m constantly in training at home: the Friendly’s 3-scoop sundae last night, DQ Blizzards, ice cream cookie sandwiches, the pints of Ben & Jerry’s in the freezer…
Not Disney-related, but ice cream-related: just got back from a trip to NYC where I visited the Ben & Jerry’s at 30 Rock and tried ‘Clusterfluff’ for the first time. It rules, in both name and content.
Next Disney trip scheduled for November. Kitchen Sink…now on the itinerary!
hmmm…also going in November, will have to think on it
Holy cow what a monstrosity!!! I have a feeling that my dad and husband could polish this off thought….perhaps next trip
What a great video! I’m looking forward to seeing if you defeat it!
I’m thinking we may attempt it this fall.
Perhaps I should cancel my reservation at Captain’s Grill after the 2012 half marathon and celebrate with the kintchen sink. That will still give me 7 or so hours to recuperate before indulging at Chef Mickey’s!
