Phew… Time to take a breath and check-in.

First, the good news: Amazon has it in stock and ready to ship.

Next: Whoo-ee, I’ve been busy. Mostly non-Mousejunkies stuff. Day-gig stuff. Writing travel and TV pieces for the Boston Herald. I usually link to them on Facebook, so if we’re not friends, request it!

I’ve received a few emails from people who say they’ve been notified that the book has shipped. I’m going to go on a field trip later and check Barnes & Noble and Borders nearby to see if they’ve landed. (Yes, we are one of the lucky areas that still has a Borders.)

This is a very exciting yet scary time, actually. All the work is done, the edits are made, the book is printed and it’s being released into the wild. It’s completely out of my hands now. More than anything in the world I want you – fellow Disney fanatics – to like it. It’s a very strange experience to be excited, but scared to death about how it will be received.

I hope you laugh, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it paints a picture of our shared love of Walt Disney World.

A few people have read it, and were nice enough to drop me a line. They were very gracious. I hope one online friend won’t mind, but at the risk of sounding like a salesman, here’s the first review I got:

“I gotta say, it really is better than the first, and for one reason, which is that it felt like more than just a travel guide and a how-to…It really felt like a celebration of the parks as well as an instructional guide and for that reason, it did a great job making me feel like I was there. Just because I’ve been on space mountain like 47 times doesn’t mean I don’t like reading about it’s greatness when I’m sitting at home. Your descriptions really came alive this time around and jogged my great memories of the place. Thanks for that, and I hope you get a chance to write a whole series of these things.”

Obviously, the man is incredibly intelligent and has impeccable taste in Disney literature.

To sum up: It’s officially released. It’s available at online booksellers, people who pre-ordered it say it’s on the way, and it may be in bookstores. I’ll go check later today. Oh, and I’m tired. See?

A little run-down, but still hawking that book.

That’s my “I’m happy but nervous” look. And evidently I’m holding the extremely rare “backwards” version of “Mousejunkies.”

Also, I need a shave. And a haircut. I’ll call Andrea and get all respectable looking before the TV/Radio/Newspaper/Blog publicity tour starts. Who wants to buy a book from a samsquanch? (Slight language warning on that clip.)
