My second book about Walt Disney World, officially titled “Mousejunkies: MORE Tips, Tales and Tricks for a Disney World Fix” (but informally called “Mousejunkies 2″) arrived on my doorstep today!
It’s a continuation of my lifelong dream of writing books about something I love and am passionate about. For everyone who bought the first book – thank you! For those who may buy the second book – from the bottom of my heart I hope you like it, and again: Thank you!

I’ve experienced this once before, and just like last time it’s a very strange day. I’m super excited that it’s here, yet at the same time it’s scary because it’s out of my hands and loose in the world.
Here are a couple of very immediate impressions: It’s a lot longer than the first book. They used the old author’s photo. I arranged for them to use the photo with me in the gold Mouse ears, but I guess it got overlooked.
I love how some of the new stuff looks. I think it’s solid funny.
At some point, every writer committing something to print has to stop writing and let it end. Meanwhile, Disney keeps moving forward. There are a couple things I wasn’t able to delve into as deeply as I would have liked (Star Tours 2) and other things that have now been changed by the Imagineers (some of the Fantasyland plans.) But there’s nothing I could do about that. I think I’ll put up a “Mousejunkies 2 Addendum” on this site. Hopefully that’ll make up for it. 
Yup, it's real!
A lot of you are in it! I asked for quotes and input from you people, and you responded! Many, many quotes from Mousejunkie friends have made it into the book, and I’m very, very happy about that.
For anyone wondering, it’s about 95-percent new. You’ll see one or two phrases or passages from the first book, and things that appeared in this blog (with changes and rewrites) but it’s more than just a rehash of the first book.
Here’s a brief anecdote about the release of both books:
- The day my first book was released, I got the mind-blowing news from Travelers’ Tales, and then rode in a limo to a Rush concert for my friend Adam’s bachelor party. It was the perfect day.
- The day this second book arrived is just hours after my beloved Boston Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in about 40 years. It is also a perfect day.
Thank you to everyone for your support, help, friendship and guidance. If ever I see you at Walt Disney World, it’s Dole Whips on me.

Just kidding Bill! Immensely happy for you. And proud to know you. Can’t wait to get my copy. There’s no “may” buy it. It’s just a matter of when. I was actually near a Borders today and took a stroll past the Travel section in hopes of a Christmas miracle. Only 2 copies of the first one left . . . but alas . . . I knew I was too soon.
In other news John & Kate’s book about raising kids and keeping a family together was on the discount rack for $4.99. Who saw that coming???

Hey Bill, Big congratulations! So proud of you. Will look for it on the bookstore & add it to my bookcase next to the first. One of these days maybe I’ll even make it down to Disney for first time. But at least I’ll know where to go like a pro. You’ll make a convert of me yet. Ha.

I am from South Dakota, so only get to DW every other year, with a spare trip to DL here and there! We were there during that horrid cold spell in Dec. I can relate to everything you wrote about that trip!!

Oh man we are so looking forward to this book. I have to admit that I was hoping for a new cover for the book but I cant wait to read the new material. My wife and I went on our honeymoon 2 weeks ago and fallowed that book to the letter. We had an incredible time.
There were are few things that caught my eye.
1. Mama Melrose was overcrowded and could not keep up with the reservations that were booked. We showed up 30 min early and still had to wait 2 hours. Worst of all the food was not up to Disney standards.
2. Ohana was so good that it I could only ask for more detail in the next book regarding all the cool and fun activity’s going on. The only bad thing is that they no longer serve the smoked turkey.
3. Last of all Star Wars Weekend was crazy busy. If your a Star Wars nut like I am you really need another full day to true the park with out all the Star Wars activity’s going on. There is not enough time in the day to do it all.
4. The greatest surprise of them all was “The Grand Sandwich” I start to tear up just talking about it. That was the single greatest meal of my life! Need I say more? No I don’t.

Bill, I want to start off with a few facts about me…..I hate to read! I LOVE Disney World! My wife, Christina, my daughter, Paytin and I cant get enough of Disney World and all that goes with it! That said I bought your first book last year for one reason, your picture on the pack of the book…. you and I look like we could be brothers. I thought “if he could write it I might be able to read it” I could not put it down! Now you have a second book and you are going to make me have to read a second book in as many years. Headed out tonight to pick it up. I have a ton of friends that always ask me about my secerets to a Disney vacation and I always love to give them some advise….latley it has been to get your book! What do I need to do to become an official Mousejunkie?
