Disney’s pretty good about its social media (though I know a few people that are still stinging from the closure of VMK.)

The Disney Parks Blog is very good about providing information, images, video, etc. Its Facebook presence is OK. But Disney has just launched a new Twitter account designed to provide us all with information from the World.

Please tell me it’s going to get better.

I realize it’s new, but right now it’s strictly a list of marketing suggestions. The first dozen Tweets suggest we get a FastPass, pick up a park guide at the park entrance, reserve a premium space at a water park, or add the Hopper Option to our Magic Your Way tickets.

That said, I have every expectation it will improve. I’d like to see them break news or make announcements via Twitter. I expect this will be the case, and I also suspect it’ll be coordinated with the Parks Blog, which is fine.

I’m following, certainly. I’m also watching to see how long it takes to get out of first gear. Go Disney, Go!
