Displaced characters sent packing by the recent closure of Mickey’s Toontown Fair are starting to find permanent homes.
The Disney Parks Blog yesterday reported Mickey and Minnie landed at Exposition Hall near the front of the Magic Kingdom. And today, I read in the Orlando Sentinel’s “A Mom and the Mouse” that Tinker Bell and her friends will be landing at the new Pixie Hollow Garden in Epcot.
The woodland theming probably comes at a good time, blending right into the Flower and Garden Festival.
At the same time, there’s a tiny part of me that feels like it’s a little shoe-horned in to the park. But just a tiny part. I never think of characters – including Tinker Bell – when I’m at Epcot. It just has a different feel to it, and that never involved characters. For me – your mileage may definitely vary.
I certainly appreciate the convenience of the Epcot Character Spot, and it’s rather non-invasive as character meet-and-greets go, so I can only guess the new Pixie Hollow Garden won’t stick out as if it doesn’t really belong.
Also, there are two queues — one for Tinker Bell and Terence and one for Rosetta and Vidia.
A completely stray thought that just came into my head as I look at the photo to the left: I met Terence once. He was SUPERHAPPY(tm). No, seriously, like – insanely happy.
The Sentinel reported this schedule:
9:30 a.m.: Tinker Bell and Terence
10:10 a.m.: Rosetta and Vidia
10:50 a.m.: Tinker Bell and Terence
11:30 a.m.: Rosetta and Vidia
12:10: Tinker Bell and Terence
12:50 p.m.: Rosetta and Vidia
1:30 p.m.: Terence
2 p.m.: Tinker Bell
2:40 p.m.: Rosetta and Vidia
3:20 p.m. Tinker Bell and Terence
4 p.m. Rosetta and Vidia
4:40 p.m. Tinker Bell and Terence
5:15 p.m. Rosetta and Vidia
What do you think? Is it a natural fit? Have you seen the new setup at Epcot?
