Well, here they are. The much-talked about proposed changes of the American Adventure costumes.
And is it me – or do those models have enormous torsos?
“Hey, let’s go on that attraction with the airline attendants standing out front!” – (Me, sometime in the future.)
I’m usually one to trust the Imagineers. Of the changes made in recent years, most of them have been pretty good. This time though – maybe not so much.
I’ve often marveled at how hot the women must be in their colonial dresses in the summer, but they’re classy, memorable and represent the start of our nation (if you’re American) quite well. Same with the men’s costumes.
Now? Well, I think it represents the start of a flight. Stiff and forgettable.
The story goes (and I have no idea if this is true) that some Disney exec walked by and decided it was time to update the costumes. Just one person’s opinion.
Dear one person:
Stay in your office next time.

What do you think of these American Adventure costumes?

They do have a certain similarity to the Soarin’ costumes, don’t they?
Yuck, they look like my old flight attendant uniform, some one needs to be hit with a magic wand and bring back original costumes.
No way! LOVE the old costumes. As a homeschool mom it was party of the authentic experience for kids to learn the fashions of Colonial times, much like a visit to Colonial Virginia. Experiencing authentic history and culture is what makes Epcot so great. This change makes no sense at all and will only diminish the experience at the American Adventure. What is next? The show itself?!?! Are they trying to re-write history or ignore it? Both are a huge mistake.
Horrible.
I’m sorry but what is wrong with the other uniforms??? These don’t say Disney at all…another disappointment!
Looks like they’re rpulling the old “If You Had Wings” uniforms out of moth balls!
Ok, my first impression was slightly different. Horrible, I agree. But I thought the guy’s suit looked a little mobster-ish. “Go ahead, make my day.”
