Thursday night brought us to Raglan Road – my favorite restaurant in all of Walt Disney World. (Complete review to follow.)
Toward the end of the meal, the part where Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding traditionally makes its appearance, Amy asked me a question that had only one obvious answer: “Do you want to split a dessert?”
Amy’s a smart girl. She was salutatorian of her class and regularly beats me at Jeopardy. So why she would ask such a silly question baffles me. I say it has one ‘obvious’ answer, but as we learned that night amidst the rollicking music, fantastic entertainment and the incredible atmosphere, there were several other ways to respond to Amy’s remarkably silly question.
Here, in order, are the answers I gave her:
- “No.”
- “No, get your own.”
- “Maybe I could get him to cut it into seven pieces and we could all have a micro-sliver.”
- “Wait…. I’ll ask the waiter if he’ll run across the room, flicking it at us as he jogs by.”
- “I’ll get the waiter to whip it at us from the other side of the room, and whatever you catch in your mouth you can eat.”
- “I know, see if the waiter will grab a piece of cake, smush it in his hands and punch me in the face with it.”
By now, Amy had that look on her face – the one that said she got my point, and she was no longer amused by my increasingly annoying answers.
Of course I split it with her. The Bread and Butter pudding at Raglan Road is monstrous, unbelievably rich and unmatched anywhere on Disney property – where bread pudding is evidently a staple. Besides, I had to drive home with her. I’m not crazy.

It’s too big and too rich- but I still won’t share it. When I share, I always give myself the smaller half and that ain’t happening with the bread and butter pudding!
[...] only one thing: dessert. It can be only one choice – Ger’s Bread and Butter pudding. (See – The dumbest question ever: Want to split a dessert?) Bread pudding is found all over Disney property. And in a bare-knuckle pub dust-up, ‘Ohana would [...]
I’ve had the Bread Pudding at the House of Blues–and I also fail to comprehend the “share a dessert” (or any meal–though I’m not above splitting two, mind you!); however, not even I could eat the whole thing. I took half home. Being the only one in my family who loves Bread Pudding helped.
Dine on, mine King!
I had one bite of this and I was in love. Unfortunately I was so full I could not eat a 2nd bite. My favorite is the Lobster BLT…BUT they ONLY serve it at lunch time and we are ususally down there at dinner. The mac and Cheese is amazing but what gets us reeled back in every time are the fried sausages. In fact we talked about them for half of the 17 hour drive to Orlando last August. We got there and were so giddy to show our new friends that met us for our ADR something that sounded nasty was truely wonderful. We were saddened when the waiter told us that they had a bad batch and were out that evening! MAJOR bummer. So we went back at the end of our trip (6 days later) and herd the SAME excuse! I hope that next time we will be able to see our little fried sausages again
now my mouth is watering!
