Katie and I just got back from another Daddy/Daughter trip to Walt Disney World. Before we left, she found one of my old journals where I chronicled some of our vacations. She told me she wanted to do the same thing on this trip, so she packed a journal and spent every night writing. When we got home, I told Katie she could type her journal entries into the Mousejunkies blog so everyone could read her trip report.

So without further ado, here is my daughter Katie’s take on our recent trip to Walt Disney World.

Here we are at Pop Century.

Arrival
It’s Easter and I just left my aunt’s house. My mom was dropping us off at the airport so we could fly to Disney. It was my first time on JetBlue.

“How long is the airport from here?” I asked.

“About 50 minutes,” my Mom said.

Aww! Finally, we were in Boston. We drove through a tunnel. “We’re underwater,” my Dad said.

“I’ve always wanted to drive underwater,” I said.

We got in the airport and we went through security very quickly. We took our seats and waited for the plane. Then after 45 minutes, the plane came. We got on the plane, and found our seats. The little TVs on the back of each seat were on, so I plugged my headphones in and watched TV. I watched Nickelodeon shows. Soon it got late. 40 minutes left until I got to Florida. After the 40 minutes, we got off the plane and got on the Magical Express bus. After about a 20 to 40 minute drive, we got off at our resort which is called Pop Century. We went to our hotel, checked in, and went to our room. It had presents in a basket like key-chains and candy. We went through all the presents slowly. We had to get up early to get to Magic Kingdom, so we went to bed.

Arrival at the Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom
Hooray! We’re going to Magic Kingdom! We went to breakfast where I had a chocolate croissant, and then headed to our bus stop. Soon the bus came, so we got on. We arrived at the Magic Kingdom. We waited for the park to open, then we watched the opening show. Then we saw a horse pulling a carriage.

“Let’s ride it,” my Dad said.

So we rode it up Main Street to Cinderella Castle, and after we got off we headed for Peter Pan in Fantasyland. After that, we went on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. After Haunted Mansion, we went to Snow White’s Scary Adventures. We got stuck on it for about 15 minutes. Once we finally got off, we did It’s a Small World, and we met Tiana. Then we met a few friends – Stephen and Judy – and we went on the Steamboat. After we did Hall of Presidents, we got some lunch at the Main Street Bakery, where I had a croissant. After lunch, I got a Haunted Mansion ear hat.

Here are my new Haunted Mansion mouse ears.

We saw a parade, rode a few rides, and soon it was time for dinner. We ate at Tony’s. It was Italian food. But before dinner I rode Haunted Mansion one more time with Judy. At dinner we met Stephen and Judy’s friend Tony. He was nice. We ate, then got on the bus back to Pop century. When we got to our hotel, we went… To sleep.

Here I am jumping on my Dad's head at Epcot.

Epcot
Epcot day is today! Epcot is my favorite park. We got breakfast and got on the bus to Epcot. We waited for the park to open. When it opened we headed straight to Spaceship Earth. The sign said: “Wait time: 0 minutes.” So we got right on. When it was over, we rode it again. When we got off, we went to the World Showcase to see Canada, then England. We ate at the Rose and Crown in the U.K. pavilion. I colored a bear fan at Kidcot Fun Stop. We  went around the World Showcase. When we got to America, we stopped at a table. Then we went to a show. Soon I  realized I left my bear fan at the table. I went back to look for it, but it was too late. It was gone. I was very sad.

After the show, I made a new one. Then I was happy. We continued on with the World Showcase, but soon it got later. So we headed to the restaurant we were going to. It wasn’t at Epcot, so we took a boat to the Boardwalk because we were going to ESPN club.

Here I am at the ESPN Club, where we watched the Bruins.

I was hoping the boat would cool me off because it was VERY humid. But it was air conditioned in ESPN. When we got in there, a game show started. It was fun! Our friend Stephen got a question right and he won a glass. After the game show, the Bruins game started. When it was it time to go back to the hotel, i was sad to leave. I had such a fun night. When we got back to the hotel, we went to… Sleep.

I'm listening to Roy at One Man's Dream.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
I woke up. I got breakfast at the hotel food court, then headed to the bus on the way to… Hollywood studios!

When we got there, we waited patiently for the park to open, then hurried to Toy Story Mania! The sign said wait time: 30 minutes. But when we got in, the wait time was probably 5-15 minutes.

My Dad said, “If you win, I’ll get you get any ear hat you want.”

But i said, “If YOU win, you still get nothing. Haha.”

He won, but I said “You still get nothing.”

After that, we went to a museum and a show about Walt Disney called One Man’s Dream. Next, I went to the animation tour. There was an art class there called the Animation Academy where they taught you how to draw Disney characters. We back four times because I loved it so much. I drew Eeyore, Jiminy Cricket, Donald Duck, and Stitch.

I won two drawings from this animator.

We got lunch at the ABC Commissary where I had chicken and fries, then went on the Great Movie Ride. We  went back to the Animation Academy, and i drew Tigger. When I drew Donald and Jiminy cricket, the Disney animator asked us trivia questions and whoever guessed them right would win his drawings. I won two of them.

These are my new ears. Someone dropped an ice cream on me at Raglan Road!

Downtown Disney
It was a little late so we headed to the bus stop to go to Downtown Disney. We had to stop at Saratoga Springs to get to the bus. When we got there we went to the World of Disney store. We got a new mouse ear hat, and we got a present for my mom. When we got out of the store we went to Raglan Road for dinner. I had chicken but I didn’t eat much. After we ate we went back to our hotel. We packed and then went to the lobby to get our boarding passes for our flight home.

My Dad said, “I forgot my wallet so we’re locked out of the room!”

When we got our boarding passes, we got a new key to our room and we bought some milkshakes for a snack. When we finished our milkshakes we packed and went to sleep.

Home
The next morning we got up at 4 a.m. and we packed the rest of our stuff. We went on the Magical Express bus back to the airport. We had some breakfast, got on the plane and I plugged in my headphones to turn on the TV. We flew back to Boston.

The trip was fun and exciting. I was sad to leave, but I was happy to be home and out of the humidity.

Every day we came back to our room to find towel animals doing different things. Here I am playing cards with our towel animals!
