For anyone younger than me, this is Steve McGarrett from the original "Hawaii Five-O." I'm sorry. I'm old and my pop culture references can skew to actors whose suit jacket sleeves are really way too short.
I do plan on getting to Hawaii someday – a quest that seems much more do-able since Aulani opened.
So when I got some interesting info about the quick dining options at Aulani, it caught my eye. I thought I’d pass it along here, because, you know, food.
When I’m not trying to spot Dog the Bounty Hunter, Danno or shooting locations for “Lost,” here’s where I’ll be putting food in my face:
One Paddle, Two Paddle – Located adjacent to ‘AMA‘AMA, the signature restaurant at Aulani, One Paddle, Two Paddle is open daily and serves a variety of quick-service favorites. From freshly-made sandwiches, tasty wraps and house-made desserts to a tasty keiki (children’s) menu, this casual dining location offers good food fast … at affordable prices.
Is anything affordable in Hawaii?
The Lava Shack – Located near the Rainbow Reef snorkel lagoon, The Lava Shack is the perfect place to pick up a Hawaii-inspired plate lunch, that generally consists of a main entrée, rice and a side. Here you can choose from complete meals featuring entrees like Cold Fried Chicken, Cured Meats, Cheeses, and Chilled Miso-glazed Salmon, as well as grab and go snacks.
Pāpālua Shave Ice – Conveniently located next to the pool deck, Pāpālua Shave Ice offers the chance for your Clients to cool off with fruity and refreshing shave ice. Choose from a variety of tropical flavors.
I’m looking forward to sampling these at some point in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, I’ll just keep hanging around the Poly when I can.
If you want to hit these places for yourself, drop me a line. I can help you get there. (End shameless plug.)

Oh, I hope “cured meats” is a euphemism for Spam. Because what’s a trip to Hawaii without Spam and shave ice? (I think I may watch too much Hawaii Five-O, because I almost added “shirtless Alex O’Laughlin to that list. Hmmm.)
Yay for SPAM!
