I was recently talking to my daughter about a potential Walt Disney World trip. We were discussing how we’d get there: airfares have gone up, and I wasn’t that excited about driving to Florida from New Hampshire.
Then, as only an 8-year-old who still believes in movie magic could, she offered an alternative: “Let’s go in a flying house like Carl from ‘Up’ did.”
I laughed and explained that even though that would be a lot of fun, it was impossible.
I’ve got to start having more faith in magic, it seems.
Watch this:
Inside the Magic reports that National Geographic Channel’s “How Hard Can it Be?” will premiere in fall 2011 and will feature an episode during which scientists build and fly a 16-foot wide x 18-foot tall house using 300 8-foot colored weather balloons to lift the structure into the air.
I love when my sense of what’s possible is turned upside-down.
Compare this shot to the one above:
Would you take a flying house to Walt Disney World? I think I’d give it a shot.

That’s fantastic. I want to do that.
Just when you resign yourself to an adult’s skepticism, something like this happens! I love it!
Why wouldn’t you take a flying house to WDW? that’s one of the more incredible things I’ve seen in a while
