Animal Kingdom’s Wild Africa Trek is already one of the most amazing specialty tours available. Evidently, they’re dumping just a bit more awesome-sauce all over it.

And expensive!?!

The Disney Parks Blog reported that it’s getting “a shot of extra adventure” with an expansion to the private safari camp. Now, you’ll get the opportunity for even more up-close views of lions, white rhinos and other animals as well as the sense that you’ve been let out into a place with no boundaries as Senior Vice President, Executive Designer and Imagineer, Joe Rohde tells us:

I still think the Animal Kingdom theme park is the most perfectly themed experience available on Disney property. And my admiration for Joe Rohde remains unflagging. The funny thing is, I’ve met him several times. And of all those opportunities, the most insightful thing I managed to say to him was, “Hey, you’re that guy I see on TV!”

He said, “Yes!” and went on his way.

Actually, I’ve done a little better than that. I had a chance to interview him at the opening of Expedition: Everest. He was smart, funny, and as awesome as you’d like to think he would be.
